That’s right ED’s CZ League is back with a vengeance for its seventh instalment. The hope is to have this league as two groups of 8 teams, however in the event that not enough teams apply then it will be down to one league. We hope it doesn’t come down to that, but at the rate of decay in CZ it might well happen!
Matches begin on the 28th of March, and will be played on Sundays at 8pm, you are advised that not being able to play on this day and at this time, you should really not apply. Teams can however rearrange a game if both teams agree, but the likely hood of that happening in this default hunting game is lower than ever..
In another attempt to get clans playing and competing in CZ, Enemydown have launched another CZ cup. This time were back to a place closer to home, by playing on Dust2. With 90% (if not more) of games played on the classic map, it is by far the most popular map on CZ.
The cup will be an 8 team cup and will be a straight knock out cup on one night, so no holds bar! You can’t play that night, then get lost! It will be taking place on Sunday 24th of January so we don’t want to see any last minute plans being made, you have been warned.
All normal rules apply, and all 30 rounds need not be played. XAC is a must!
In a new move to get CZ moving again, Dustworld have announced their latest project, Clan Dustworld. Clan Dustworld is basically a public set of servers, with the players being their own admins. Ofcourse the admins are vetted, but anyone playing on the server has the potential to be the admin for it too.
There are currently 4 servers for Condition Zero on the go including a gun game server aswell as a Deathmatch server. Both are very popular game types, which have a habit of being on rubbish servers. Dustworld have used their experience in making the perfect server and also the opinions on their customers to make their servers completely different.
They have reduced lag, and increased reg as much as possible, although nothing can be perfect! So what are you waiting for? Getting on them servers and join the Steam Group
One of the longer lasting clans that have been around since the start of CZ have finally called it a day on their CZ servers. In a open statement on the Enemydown forums, Boomycol described why he has come to the decision to close it, with the reason being they have run out of funds.
No talent were one of the clans that were hit hard when 4u-servers went bust, losing several months rent in the process. Despite this they kept the enthusiasm going in the hope of it working out, but having now moved into other games, have found a better market with less folding and moaning.
They have been one of the clans that have continued to keep servers up for such a long period of time, and were ones that actually knew how CZ first started and how it was supposed to be run. Clans of more recent times will not remember what it is all about to be a clan like this. In all honesty as much as it hurts me to say it the way in which clans are run now a days, with the exception of a few, it is likely the fall of CZ is almost here.
It is a sad thing to see, but it was coming for a long time. Good luck Boomycol for the future.
